Five weeks to Ice Age. It kind of sneaks up on you. I am happy to report I am down to 173 and that seems like a good weight. My right hammy is bugging me, which seems to be the case every time I try and do something semi fast. Only a few weeks left of good training so I guess I'll just pour the coals to her and see what shakes out. I'm trying to piece together the "perfect" April (in terms of running only, the rest is just fodder) and I have gazed back into the log book to see what magic was in there.
2009
March 294 miles
April 189 miles w/
15 runs of less than 10
0 runs of 10-19
4 long runs = 26.0, 20.0, 30.0, 21.0
5 speed/strength workouts
May 9 = 7:20:57
2010
March 264 miles
April 194 miles w/
12 runs of less than 10
1 run of 10-19

2011
March 203 miles
April 238 miles w/
12 runs of less than 10
2 runs of 10-19
5 long runs = 28.0, 31.1, 25.5, 35.0, 19.5
0 speed
May 14 = 8:03:57
2012
March 363 miles
April 199 miles w/

1 long run = 34.6
1 race Bear Trax 20k 1:24:03, no other speed
May 12 = 7:55:33
2013
March 231 miles
April 236 miles w/
19 runs of less than 10
4 runs of 10-19
2 long runs = 35.0, 35.0
0 speed
May 11 = 7:56:58
I had big plans for April, but after looking at this I am going to reduce my weekly mileage, skip speed to protect the hammy, and drastically cut back on the weekly long runs.
Here are my weekends since mid-February by time only:
2/15 = 1:14
2/16 = 5:14
2/22 = 3:11
2/23 = 2:07
3/1 = 3:31
3/2 = 1:38
3/8 = 5:12
3/9 = 1:35
3/15 = 5:13
3/16 = 1:40
3/22 = 3:16
3/23 = 2:35
3/29 = 4:09
3/30 = OFF
Looking at this, I am of the belief there is enough in the bank. I need to get to the line in one piece.
See you out there DD! The weight loss should help improve the time, as will the fat-burner diet. Good running to you. ~Marty
